I bet if I asked you if you have desire to be and do good in the world. You would confirm in a heartbeat. BUT, if I asked you the opposite, do you desire to be bad? You might hesitate and or even want to deny it.
Why do I want to bring this up? Because I have found that we often use these labels of good or bad, on ourselves, for the actions we take – especially when it comes to reflecting on choices that reflect progress towards a goal.
What I have found for myself, is that the more I aim to “be good” the more I bump up against a resistence….to be bad. Because….it is human to be both, it's okay. And, in honoring this tendency and choosing to rise above it when making choices, I move forward a lot faster.
