Some of us have built up greater muscles to trust our creative urge, while others of us have spent more time developing our muscles of discernment.
We need both. As a whole, we make better decisions when we know what it feels like to trust both. If we spend too much time with one, as with our muscles, when we stop using the other, we forget what it feels like to use it, and so it feels awkward and uncomfortable when it comes time to put it into action, even if using them is a great thing for us. Consistency is key to build strength and trust.
Today I ask you to think about which muscles are stronger within you? Those of creative urge and spontaneous action or those of discernment and careful judgment.
I have a story I'd like to share that demonstrates my process of working through my creativity urge versus discernment in a particular opportunity that came up about a month ago.
What muscles are stronger within you? What if you experimented with strengthening the weaker of the two? What would you do as your next creative urge arises?
